During the first part of the Bosphorus Tour, we will visit the Little Hagia Sophia which is an ancient Orthodox Church dedicated to Saints Sergius and Bacchus in Constantinople, between 531 and 536 AD, shortly before Hagia Sophia itself. The Little Hagia Sophia was created by Emperor Justinian, and later converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire. This stunning building is considered one of the best examples of Byzantine architecture. It is situated in Kumkapi neighborhood, Fatih. It is close to the Marmara Sea.
Little Hagia Sophia is famous for its Central Dome. Its outside structure is fundamentally the same as the Great Hagia Sophia. Some historians argue that they were planned by similar architects, Isidoro de Mileto and Antemio de Tralles. The structure is now isolated from the sea by the Sirkeci – Halkali railroad line.
Amazed by the arch and two-story marble corridors of Little Hagia Sophia, it is now the ideal time to leave on the Bosphorus Tour, an unforgettable journey that all who visit Istanbul need to take.
We will later embark on a cruise boat to sail along the Bosphorus which is a natural strait between two continents, Asia and Europe. During the cruise tour, we will have a better insight to the city’s structure and importance. The places, wooden sea-houses, and the beautiful neighborhoods of Istanbul will be passing one after the other as we photograph them. We will enjoy the breathtaking views of Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and many iconic landmarks situated along the shores of Bosphorus. There is so much to learn about this magnificent city. The tour guide will be with us during the cruise tour.
The Bosporus is a distinctive waterway between two mainlands and the two seas. The journey is roughly 90 minutes along the two banks decorated with illustrious castles, mosques, prestigious colleges, popular 5-star hotels, the two suspension bridges and, most importantly, the well-known wooden houses, the “yalı”, residence of Istanbul superstars, which are manors in the Victorian style. During the boat trip, you will have the chance to see the two remarkable cross continental bridges of Istanbul: the Bosphorus Bridge that runs from Ortaköy, in Europe to Beylerbeyi, in Anatolia and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, between Kavacık and Hisarüstü.
We will also see The Golden Horn, a sea tongue at the passageway of the Bosphorus that develop 7.5 kilometers into the city. The Greek pilgrims picked this territory to construct the city of Byzantium. The Golden Horn has a few spots of enthusiasm for travelers. The notable coast go through the popular neighborhoods of Fener and Balat.
After the Golden Horn, we will admire The Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar), probably the most popular bazaar in the city and the second biggest enclosed market on the planet after the Grand Bazaar. It is situated in the bustling area of Eminonu, close to the New Mosque.
The cruise lasts approximately an hour and a half along the two banks adorned with royal palaces, mosques, prestigious universities, the two suspension bridges and the famous wooden houses knowns as yali.
At the end of the tour, there is an opportunity to get off in Asian part of the city where we can see the best sunset by the sea in carpeted cafes. Here you lie down and enjoy the breathtaking colors of Istanbul.
